Art For Your Walls, Decor For Your Home: March 2012

Hello everybody! No blogging for the last few days as you can see… Life got in the way: we had our mortgage due for renewal, I had to prepare our garden for spring( pruning fruit trees), and do some major spring cleaning to get some positive feng-shui in our house and lives!

But,… I’m back, so thank you for being so patient with me!

If I didn’t blog, it doesn’t mean I didn’t work( or kept working) on some home projects as well.

Awhile back a found an owl at Value Village. I named it Mr. Wise Owl, because in my eyes, it looks like a wise creature.

He was all dirty and sad, sitting alone on a corner shelf.

The intention was to give it a fabulous makeover with some shiny layers of spray paint. Which I did, some two weeks ago…For this, I used Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint in Gloss White (Gloss).

Here you can see him, in an AFTER shot:

Well, he got his beautiful white immaculate coat, but…where to put him? For some time, his house was in the built in bookcase, on the upper shelf:

But with the white background of the bookcase, I didn’t feel he got more of the attention he deserved.

So I moved his house in the living room and I make him sat on a stack of my new covered books, close to my lamp, so he can read at night.

I believe he looks so much better in his new place: thrifty-remodels-wise-owl-gets-a-new-home-01-4252941
