wall decor: My Stenciled Frosted Glass Windows

Hi, there! Did you know this is my first post? Yes, it is,so… Welcome!

I wanted to share with you one of my favorite projects in our house: my stenciled frosted glass windows.

Short story: we moved almost two years ago in an older house. The living room is quite small with two tall and narrow windows, close to the corners. For this reason, it’s kind of hard to use sheers or drapes.

This is what I’m talking about:

Do you know what I mean??

Well, all in all, I decided to use Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass spray paint and stencil the windows and get rid of the ugly “window treatments” we inherited. frosted-glass-02-6716475

I gathered all the other materials I needed: my cutter, glass cleaner, plastic sheets, masking paper( or adhesive backed paper), masking tape and of course, a stencil.
I looked on the Internet, and that’s the stencil I chose and printed on a regular sheet of paper:

After I transferred the stencil on the backed-adhesive paper( at the size of the window), I applied it on the cleaned surface. Then, with my cutter, I traced the stencil and removed the parts I didn’t need:

I used some plastic sheets to protect the frame of the window and the walls from the spray paint. Those little tiny millions of droplets of spray paint can make such a mess on your walls if you’re not careful!!. If you want to see more, click here.

For the spray paint part I just followed the instructions on the can.

And this is the end result:
